Health and Safety Policy

1. Policy Statement
Morrison Tours is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all participants, employees, and contractors during guided walks. We aim to provide a safe and enjoyable experience while minimising risks associated with outdoor activities.

2. Responsibilities
Owner/Guide Responsibilities:

• Ensure all walks are suitable for participants’ fitness levels.
• Carry a first aid kit and mobile phone for emergencies.
• Provide safety briefings before walks (e.g., terrain, weather, hazards).
• Monitor weather conditions and modify/cancel walks if necessary.
• Ensure all guides are trained in first aid and emergency procedures.
• Ensure there are enough guides to the number of people.

Participant Responsibilities:

• Follow the guide’s instructions at all times.
• Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the walk.
• Inform the guide of any medical conditions or concerns.
• Stay with the group and avoid unnecessary risks.

3. Risk Management

• Group sizes are kept manageable for safety.
• Emergency procedures are in place for accidents or injuries.

4. First Aid & Emergencies

• A first aid kit is always available on walks.
• In case of an emergency, the guide will contact emergency services (112/999) and administer first aid if needed.
• Participants must report any injuries immediately.

5. Incident Reporting
All accidents or near-misses must be recorded and reviewed to prevent recurrence.

6. Review & Compliance
This policy will be reviewed in July 2026 or after any significant incident to ensure continued safety.
